This Web List is to be used for the Expert of the Biomes Web Quest.  They are useful in finding out information of your specific ecosystem, maps of where your ecosystem is located, food webs, animals, plants and all other information pertinent to your project.  Most sites have pictures of the ecosystem and what is located in each system.

Most students know about the Discovery Channel and even have seen the Planet Earth series. This is a series that will be shown in class before the actual biome project is started. Students can then access this website or learn more and review what they have seen.

MBGnet

Website used when talking about Ecosystems used for research on Biome Project for Web Quest. Gives a lot of easy to read information on everything from location to climate to animals. I believe this would be the most popular site used by students.

Website that gives more information on Rainforest's and why they are so important. This would be good for those choosing to do the rainforest ecosystem. Shows real pictures rather than drawings of plants and animals in the rainforest.

Blue Planet Biomes - World Biomes

More Kid friendly, shows maps of where Ecosystems are located, animals, plants etc..I would imagine this would be one of the more popular websites that the students use while researching their ecosystem.

Science Bob

Website used when talking about Ecosystems used for research on Biome Project for Web Quest. Gives a lot of easy to read information on everything from location to climate to animals Gives students information on the difference of a food chain and a food web. This will aid them in the development of their own food webs.

From the University of California Museum of Paleontology about Ecosystems. Gives more information on biomes. Students may find this a little more wordy than the other sites but still can be useful.

Kids' Games, Animals, Photos, Stories, and More -- National Geographic Kids

National Geographic for kids. Will give information on animals and ecosystems. Kids NG I find is more popular because the name is well known. Stuff can be found on NG general but I thought kids NG would be more user friendly for the students.

National Geographic - Inspiring People to Care About the Planet

Give recent and more up to date information on Biomes, what is happening to them etc..Good resource for teachers as well as upper level students looking for more in depth information on their biome. Pictures are helpful on the sites so students can get a visual on what the biome looks like.

EPA Environmental Kids Club: Home Page

This website is interactive and gives students ideas on how pollution effects their Biome, what they can do to protect animals in the Ecosystem they have chosen, and all about recycling and how it is important to our environment. Not sure how much this could be helpful to the students while doing their actual research but I think it could be a bit helpful.
