PROCESS |
1. With your co-pilot (your computer partner) research the four human body systems using the links on the resource page. You could each research 2 of the four body systems and then combine your information.
2. With your co-pilot fill out the human body system fact sheets for each system that you researched.
Click here for the fact sheet.
3. Using the information you have gathered, you and your co-pilot will now create your floor plan for your habitat. Work together on your design. Talk out what the rooms should look like and where they should be. Remember to include areas needed for all 4 body systems. Keep in mind that some rooms can support more than one body system. Ask yourself what type of area do you need for sleeping, exercising, eating, breathing, waste removal, and mental stimulation.
4. First use a ruler and pencil to draw your floor plan, label the areas and draw the needed furniture and fixtures like the cabinets, sinks, and appliances. Then go over the final design in marker. The areas should be labeled clearly. Items inside each area should be labeled. Each area should say which body system or systems it is designed to support. Your floor plan can be colored in after everything is drawn and labeled in marker. This should be your best quality work. If your co-pilot prints better than you, they should do the labeling. If you color better than your co-pilot then you should be the one to color in the floor plan.
5. You and your co-pilot will
present your habitat design at a meeting for your fellow Dardenneians
and the Supreme Commander Greenzoid.
Your
task is to persuade the other Dardenneians and the Commander to accept
your design as the one that would support the human body systems in the
best manner. Each of you should be responsible for 1/2 of the oral presentation.
